In the drill, be specific about how to get out, where to go, and what to do when your trainee is out of the house.

For example:

“There is a fire in the kitchen, Robin. Do not stop to put on shoes or any other clothes. Be sure to test each door handle before opening any door. Go out the front door, cross the driveway to the wire fence, and tap the green thumbs up button when you get there.”
